Christina's Beanie


Here's the pattern:


CHRISTINA’S BEANIE


Sizes: 16 inches—child
18 inches—adult
20 inches—large adult

Materials: Debbie Bliss Cashmarino Aran (50g/100yd, 55 % merino/33% microfiber/12%cashmere) or Merino Aran (50g/85yd, 100% merino wool) 2 skeins
#8 circular needles, 16 inches
#8 dbl pointed needles

Gauge: 4.5 stitches/ 1 inch in st st.

Brim:

Cast on 72 (80, 92) stitches.
Join and begin working in the round:
Rnd 1: K1 P1 to end of round.
Rnd 2: P to end of round.
Repeat these two rounds until piece measures 2 ½ inches, ending with rnd 2.

Body:

Rnd 1: K3 P1 to end of rnd
Rnd 2: P1, * K1 P3* repeat from * to* until last 3 stitches, K1 P2
Repeat these 2 rows until entire piece measures 8 ½--9 inches.

Decrease rows:
(Change to double pointed needles when necessary)
Rnd 1: *K1, SSK, P1* to end of rnd.
Rnd 2: P1 * K1 P2 * repeat from * to * to last to stitches 2 stitches K1 P1.
Rnd 3: K2 P1 to end of rnd.
Rnd 4: same as rnd 2.
Rnd 5: K2 tog P1 to end of rnd.
Rnd 6: K1 P1 to end of rnd.
Rnd 7: K2 tog to end of rnd.
Rnd 8: same as rnd 7.
Pull yarn through remaining stitches and secure top.

Finishing:

Weave in loose ends.
Fold Brim. Block if necessary.
Fold brim.
